FaxWizard [Listing updated: May 7, 2002]

FaxWizard brings faxing capabilities to any Windows 95/98/XP/NT/2000 computer, letting you send or receive faxes through its interface. It provides a print driver, so you can fax directly from the Print menu within any Windows application as easily as printing the document. There is also a fax broadcastfeature. FaxWizard offers an import/export module and multiple databases to store recipients' information, so commonly used addresses are only a click away. A scanning interface enables you to bring in photos or scanned text, and the built-in image viewer makes it possible to see the picture before it's sent out. A graphical log is maintained to show the status of sent, received, and pending transmissions. Attach images or files to the fax, and FaxWizard automatically recognizes then converts several common formats (TIFF, DCX, TEXT, BITMAP, and more) to faxable information.

"A great software, but watch out!" - Mary McCormick [December 7, 2004]
I bought FaxWizard about 5 years ago, and since then bought one upgrade. This past summer I had to reformat my hard drive, twice, and since I didn't get a disk with the software I had to email the company for another product key extension in order to download two replacements. That was a bit of a hassle, since the extensions given me didn't always work the first time around, and I had to redownload yet another "trial" version (1 1/2 hours it takes!) to try again.

Then my hard drive gave out last August, and it took me until a few days ago to get a replacement. I emailed customer service again, and was given an extension which didn't work. So I spent the time downloading another version, and sent customer service another partial product key, asking for a completion of the key so I could reinstall my software.

Ordinarily customer service gets back to me the same day. This time I still haven't heard back - and sense I won't. I don't believe FaxWizard will replace my software.

After doing a search on the web, I find that other companies are willing to replace lost software, upgrade for free, with a smile. If I don't get a replacement product key in another few days, I'm going to replace my fax software with another make. It may not be as good, but reliability is now an issue.

"Outdated product with terrible support" - Tim [February 6, 2004] Product Rating: 1/5
Looking for something to replace WinFax? This is not it, it is even worse. A considerable amount of problems during setup prevented this from working for me.
"poor install wizard" - John Ingar Øverland [November 7, 2003]
The install wizard ask for a install folder, if you change the default folder you get some files in the default folder and some in the folder you chose. When you try to import database files it looks in the default folder even if it has created a database in the folder you asked to install in.
This is not a mature product.
The faxwizard is not suitable outside the US because of difference in the use of prefix when dialling.
